Hjalmar Olson

Hjalmar Olson has served on the Bristol Bay Native Corporation board since 1974. He has served as the Chairman since 1979, and President and CEO for the last 16 years. He was born and raised in Dillingham.Mr. Olson has commercial fished in the Bristol Bay area for more than 50 years. In his free time, Mr. Olson hunts, fishes, and smokes salmon with his wife Anuska, his sons and his grandchildren. For the last 30 years, Mr. Olson has volunteered on many boards, including the Bristol Bay Native Association, local Fish and Game advisory boards and the Alaska Federation of Natives.
