Matthew Nicolai

Matthew Nicolai is the President/CEO of the Calista Corporation, an ANCSA corporation with over 13,000 shareholders. He is a strong advocate for rural interests including preservation of the subsistence lifestyle, promoting economic development and infrastructure development in rural Alaska, and in creating employment and education and training opportunities for Alaska Native people.

Mr. Nicolai serves on the Salvation Army Advisory Board, AT&T Rural Advisory Board, Providence Foundation Board, Commonwealth North Board of Directors, Alaska Chapter of the Salvation Army Board of Directors, and is a member and past secretary for the Anchorage East Rotary Club. He also serves as Chairman of the Western Alaska Village Enterprise, Inc. and is Secretary/Treasurer to WAVE Fuels & Transportation, Inc., which are both economic development corporations comprised of various rural ANCSA Village Corporations.

Matthew Nicolai was born in Bethel and was raised in Kwethluk. Matthew and his wife Margaret have three children.
