Nancy Barnes

For the past 23 years Nancy Barnes has served on the Board of the Eyak Corporation, and is the current President.She has served six years on the Chugach Alaska Corporation Board; worked for ten years in the Office of the Governor Rural Affairs (for 3 Governors) and currently works for the Alaska State Legislature—totaling 20 years in the State Capitol building in public service. Ms. Barnes passion is Native language restoration and dancing and started the Shimalgyak Language Circle in Juneau (language of the Tsimshian).She also serves on the Sealaska Heritage Institute Board of Trustees.
