Percy Ballot Sr., adopted son to Sam & Beulah Ballot of Buckland by way of Selawik, Alaska. His biological parents were Edward & Irene Gallahorn of Sesolik/Pt.Hope. His great grandfather Chester Seveek. Percy is married to June Ballot (48 years) of Kotzebue. He has 26 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren.
Percy represents the Buckland Tribe as Maniilaq rep and in AFN, Ruralcap, ICC Alaska, ICC Health Steering Committee, and has been fortunate to be in just about most things in all areas regarding health, economic, subsistence, environment and housing. For 30 years he was Tribal President, past deeds city council, school board, search & rescue, VPO, administrator. His favorite thing to do is create opportunities for others, especially kids and culture camps – taking them out is a special feeling when they do first this and share with elders, also to prepare and eat what you get!
